Ypsilanti – As his team prepares to take on Bowling Green Saturday, Eastern Michigan head football coach Jeff Genyk knows it will take a great performance just to stay competitive with the 5-2 Falcons. However, he wants his players to avoid "pressing" too much.

"We have to execute. We don't have to play perfect. But we have to execute on offense, defense and special teams to give us a chance to be in the game in the fourth quarter," Genyk said Tuesday. "It's going to take our best effort just to get us to the fourth quarter."

Ypsilanti, MI – With Ball State tailback Adell Givens pounding away, and wide receiver Dante Ridgeway finding open seams, the Cardinals scored 14 third-quarter points and took a 24-21 lead into the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Eastern Michigan. No one would have been surprised if the Eagles dropped their third straight heartbreaker.

Instead, EMU mounted a strong defensive fourth-quarter, and finished the Cardinals off.
