The White House today will honor Paul Saginaw at a ceremony in Washington. he is among those being recognized with a 'Champions of Change' award.

Saginaw is co-founder of the Zingerman's community of businesses. During a visit to Ann Arbor in April, President Barack Obama praised Saginaw for paying his restaurant workers above minimum wage.

Saginaw and his fellow Champions of Change award recipients are activists, advocates and business owners who the Obama administration says have taken action to raise wages for working men and women around the country.

Saginaw founded Zingerman's Deli with partner Ari Weinzweig in March of 1982. Since that time, the enterprise has expanded, and is now comprised of eight enterprises that fall under the umbrella of  Zingerman's Community of Businesses.
