Ann Arbor City Administrator Announces Resignation

City of Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor City Administrator Steve Powers has announced he will turn in a letter of resignation on September 15th.

He has accepted a city manager job offer in Salem Oregon.

As of now, no one as been selected for an interim position, but city council will help decide who will take his place through a national candidate search.

Councilmember Sabra Briere says Power's did great work for the city.

"He has helped create an atmosphere that encourages effective public input and staff reaction to that input," Briere says.

Powers has been the city's administrator for four years.

His contract ends in mid November.
