This week, Art and Soul is about the art of well being. 89.1 WEMU’s Lisa Barry is joined by mindfulness and compassion-based psychotherapist Trish Magyari, who talks about how mindfulness and self-compassion can make our lives better.
Magyari defines mindfulness as being in the present moment, especially when it comes to completing simple tasks. Of course, this is not an easy thing to accomplish, but Magyari wants to help people with that.
Sponsored by the Ann Arbor Center for Mindfulness, Magyari will hosting a two-day workshop and retreat on October 20-21. On the first day, the workshop will focus on managing trauma-related events with theories and special strategies.
The second day will be an all-day retreat that will demonstrate meditation techniques that are useful for handling trauma.
For full details on the event, you can find the flyer here. To register, click on the Ann Arbor Center for Mindfulness events page.
