After a storied, decades long career as host of the Groove Yard, George Klein has decided to step down as the show's host, effective immediately.
Over the last 25 years, George has been a rich contributor to the legacy of jazz and WEMU. All of us at WEMU thank George for the time, effort, energy and passion he put into the program over the years and wish him well in his future endeavors.
He will always be a member of the WEMU family.
Please join WEMU in welcoming longtime producer and substitute host of the show, Chrysta Cherrie as the new host of the Groove Yard.
We are very excited to have George's producer, Chrysta Cherrie carry on the legacy of the Groove Yard. As a '04 graduate of EMU, Chrysta brings a great amount of talent and musical knowledge to WEMU and in the Southeastern Michigan community.
Chrysta began her journey at WEMU as a student librarian in 2002, working her way up to producer, and has has held roles as Entertainment Producer at AnnArbor.com, assistant editor at Rovi Corporation, and web editor at AllMusic.com, and is currently a marketing writer at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
