City Moves "Y" Residents to Apartment Complex

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – Former residents of the old Y-M-C-A building in downtown Ann Arbor will be offered housing in the Tuscan Creek apartments in Ypsilanti Township.
City council unanimously aproved an agreement Monday night to lease up to 44 apartments for a year to provide housing.
Community Services area administrator Jayne Miller says the agreement should cover the city until plans for the redevelopment of the "Y" site are finalized.
Miller says the residents will be given
A-A-T-A bus passes and the city will provide transportation to work, doctor appointments, and other emergencies if bus service isn't available.
She says the city anticipates spending just over one million dollars from October 20th through the end of the lease in late January of next year.
