City Wants More Money From State for Fire Protection

By Bob Eccles

Ypsilanti, MI – Ypsilanti's city council has gone on record asking the state to help it pay for providing fire protection to the Eastern Michigan University campus.
A resolution seeking the funding was approved by council Tuesday night.
Council member Brian Filipiak says the service provided to EMU goes beyond fire protection by including training and workshops for different groups on campus.
He says it's important that the city be fully compensated for those efforts.
