Committee Approves new County Budget

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners' Ways and Means Committee has approved the county's new two-year budget. The full board is scheduled to vote on the measure November 5th.
County Administrator Bob Guenzel says the budget no longer includes position cuts for the county's trial courts, but does not include any funding increases beyond what had already been proposed.
With state officials announcing a deficit of nearly 900 million dollars in the state budget this week, Guenzel says more cuts in the county budget are likely to come early next year.
