Congresswoman Debbie Dingell gave her now annual "state of the district" address at an Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Regional Chamber luncheon Thursday.

Congresswoman Dingell spoke on many subjects and assured the crowd she is working hard on their behalf.

"I think Congress can appear to be nonfunctional at times, but I came in with five freshmen, and we are working very hard to not be partisan."

The 12th District congresswoman said, while health care is her passion, transportation is critical in connecting us all.

She mentioned a letter she just sent to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality asking for the finalization of stricter dioxane cleanup standards to deal with an underground dioxane plume in the Ann Arbor area.
