Council Delays Decision on Parking Structure Site

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – Ann Arbor's city council has delayed a decision on what to do with the site of the former parking structure at First and Washington.
Council tabled the redevelopment proposal for two weeks so council can review the plans.
Councilmember Stephen Rapundalo says he wants more information to make sure the right redevelopment project is selected.
Mayor John Hieftje says a proposal for parking and apartments on the site was favored by the selection committee over a parking and condominium project. Hieftje says the city has several condo projects in the pipeline, but few downtown apartment plans.
