County and Townships Reach Agreement on Road Patrols

Ypsilanti, MI – Just hours before a deadline that would have lead to layoffs in the Washtenaw County Sheriff's department, and the end of sheriff's road patrols in three townships, the county and the townships reached a tentative agreement to maintain police services.
The sides agreed in principle to a plan to have four-year contracts comparable to those that other townships have already signed, but to also allow lawsuits filed in the dispute to continue. Click on the audio icon to hear more on the story from WEMU's Andrew Cluley.
