Eastern Michigan University Students Volunteer For MLK Day Of Service

More than one hundred students volunteered for Eastern Michigan University's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

Students worked with twelve different community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Girl Scouts of Michigan, and the Ann Arbor Natural Area Preservation. KayleighCrummey is a student coordinator with EMU’s Vision Center.

She says,

"People are inspired by the work of Martin Luther King Jr. and want to do something that is relevant to his work. [They} want to continue his legacy.”

The United Way of Washtenaw County also has volunteer events planned for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday January 18.
