EMU Science Building Project Moves Forward

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – Eastern Michigan University is submitting its use and finance statement to state lawmakers for its new Mark Jefferson science complex.
The documents are submitted to the Joint Capital Outlays subcommittee of the state legislature as part of the process for receiving state funding for the 100-million dollar project.
EMU Business and Finance Vice-President Janice Stroh says the statement includes the university's plans for paying for the project.
The first phase of the new science complex is a 151-thousand square foot addition to the current building, followed by renovations to the existing structure.
