Scout Bostley & Darius Simpson perform "Lost Voices" in the 89.1 WEMU Studios

Football fans around the country been cheering on and celebrating the student athletes, each cheering on their own team.

But, the thing that we all have in common is a heavy heart  from yet another deadly school shooting, the latest of which took place in Oregon. Today we'd like to introduce you to two Eastern Michigan University students who have brought positive national attention to the school by sending out an impassioned, important, and highly emotional message.

Darius Simpson and Scout Bostley are part of EMU's Poetry Slam Team. They have gone video viral with 3 million views of their performance piece called "Lost Voices."

It was written well before these latest shootings and speaks to racial and gender bias, bullying, and being marginalized into silence. Darius and Scout are certainly doing their part in the most creative way to lift the veil and give a voice to those who most need to be heard.
