Fornero Leaving Ann Arbor Schools

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – The Ann Arbor School District will soon be looking for a new superintendent.
George Fornero will leave that post at the end of the school year to become the superintendent at the Deerfield-Highland Park school district in Illinois.
Fornero said he wasn't looking for a new job, and it was a difficult decision, but the move allows him to return to the Chicago area where he grew up.
Fornero says he will continue to work on the new high school project, student achievement issues, and teacher contract negotitions through the remainder of this school year.
