Ann Arbor, MI – A month after Ann Arbor's city council rejected a proposed historic district, council has started the process to create a smaller district.
Tuesday night, council approved a Broadway Historic District study committee, and council member Bob Johnson says the process should move more quickly this time. He says the rejected historic district had more support from Broadway home owners than residents of Pontiac Trail. He says this portion also has more historic buildings.
Johnson says the new committee should be able to complete its work in less than a year, and will be assisted by the Lowertown historic district study committee.
