Lawmakers Will Try Again To Fix Michigan’s Medical Marijuana Law

A group of state lawmakers will try again to make major changes to Michigan’s medical marijuana law. Republican state Representative Lisa Lyons is sponsoring a bill that would allow patients to use non-smokable forms of cannabis – such as baked goods or oils

Lyons says children and people with respiratory problems shouldn’t have to smoke marijuana.

“We are prosecuting patients and we’re prosecuting parents for choosing a delivery method for medicinal marijuana that may be a safer and more effective alternative than smoking.”

Lawmakers have also reintroduced legislation that would make dispensaries legal in communities that choose to allow them.
