Livonia Woman Survives Car-Train Crash

A 23-year old Livonia woman is lucky to be alive after her 2006 Ford Focus hit a train on Pontiac Trail in Ann Arbor in the early morning hours.  The crash happened just south of Warren Road.  Sergeant Geoffrey Fox of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says the woman's car struck the side of the freight train around 4:30 Friday morning, causing her car to be pushed into a ditch. He says the driver was conscious through the ordeal.  The unidentified woman was reportedly in stable condition and is expected to recovery from her injuries.  Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be involved in the crash.
