LANSING -  Anglers in Michigan must have new fishing licenses before casting lines at Tuesday's start of the 2014 fishing season.

State Natural Resources officials say all 2013 licenses are good only through Monday.

Michigan's fishing licenses were restructured March 1st. Options range from a $26 annual license for state residents to $10 for a 24-hour license. Licenses are good for all species of fish.

The state says revenue from the new licenses will be invested into Michigan's fisheries.

Licenses can be purchased from local licensed retailers or at a DNR customer service center. They also can be bought online using the state's E-License system website.
