The Holmes Road neighborhood in Ypsilanti Township could soon get surveillance cameras.
The township's neighborhood watch network wants to install ten cameras to help with criminal investigations. Township supervisor BrendaStumbo says that, if the plan is approved, it would cost homeowners in that area $46.48 a year for annual operation and maintenance. The township would pay $77,000 to purchase the cameras.
At least 51% of the neighborhood residents need to be in favor of installing the cameras for the project to move forward.
Four other neighborhoods in the township are currently using surveillance cameras.
