Parking Issues To Be Addressed At Ann Arbor City Council Meeting

Wikimedia Commons

Ann Arbor's City Council and the Downtown Development Authority will discuss possible modifications to their parking agreement tonight.

A recommendation to enforce parking meters past 6 PM has been made.  The city is considering the change because some drivers park right before the enforcement ends and stay all night in the same spot, preventing others from parking on the street.

Council member ChuckWarpehoski from the 5th ward explains.

"The problem is that other people who want to come, they don't necessarily need to park for hours in a parking structure. They just want to be able to come, grab something to eat, pick up something from the store, and then head out."

No word yet on when council will vote on the issue.
