The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents sent a response to a letter from faculty senate members.
The letter demands the board change the closed search process for EMU’s next president. Faculty Senate President Sandy Norton read the letter at the most recent board of regents meeting, urging the board to respond by October 16.
Norton sent WEMUa copy of the board of regents' reply. She says faculty senate members will, "have to decide what next steps to take."
Norton says a confidential search for the university’s next president deprives EMU staff and students from having a say in who will lead the school.
Faculty senate members will meet on Wednesday at 3 PM at the Student Center on EMU's campus.
