Primaries Set Stage For State Legislature Election

Wikipedia

Candidates for the Michigan Legislature are being chosen by voters in Tuesday's primary election.  Winners will face off in the November general election when control of the state House of Representatives will be at stake.
Republicans have controlled the House since 2010. A five-seat swing would be needed for Democrats to gain a majority there. The GOP holds a 59-50 edge.
In the Senate, Democrats hope to chip away at the Republicans' 26-to-12 margin.

Some of the most contentious primary races feature Republican incumbents facing challenges from conservatives unhappy over the Legislature's decision to expand Michigan's Medicaid program under the federal health care law.
