It will be another exciting event for sky watchers this weekend. There will be a total lunar eclipse Sunday evening, the last one visible from our area until May of 2019.
Norbert Vance is a professor and director of the Sherzer Observatory at Eastern Michigan University. Some people are calling it a "Super Moon" professor Vance calls it a "pumpkin moon"
There is a big sky watching event open to the public tonight and tomorrow night at Kensington Metro Park in Milford.
Sherzer Observatory will be open to the public Sunday night, with a special planetarium show beginning at 6:30.
The show costs $5 per person and includes a 45 minute film presentation about the moon called "Back To The Moon; For Good" will also be shown as well as a simulation of the eclipse.
Visiting the obersavatory to view the eclipse is free.
