Reliability And Mobility Are Top Priorities For Washtenaw County Residents For A Mass Transit System

For now, the Regional Transit Authority has completed its public meetings in Washtenaw County regarding the creation of a mass transit system in our area.  The last one took place in Ann Arbor.

The RTA tells WEMU that reliability and mobility are top priorities for Washtenaw County.

Bus riders want to make sure their bus is on time and that it can take them to locations public transportation currently doesn't reach.

Travis Gonyou, spokesperson for the RTA, says the feedback will be highly considered.  The RTA will pass on the information to their contractors so they can put together a master plan to later present to the public.

A mass transit system is being created so residents can travel quickly from cities such as Detroit to Ann Arbor.

The RTA also held a public meeting earlier this month in Ypsilanti.
