Renovating the 'Big House'

By David Fair

Ann Arbor, MI – Back in May, University of Michigan Regents approved plans to renovate Michigan Stadium, the home of Wolverine football. Part of that plan calls for the construction of luxury suites at a cost of approximately 250-million dollars.
That part of the plan has stirred up a bit of controversy over the project.
A group called 'Save The Big House' formed to oppose the plan, but UofM officials are moving forward with the project, which was roundly booed by Npr sports commentator Frank DeFord last Wednesday during Npr's Morning Edition.
Friday morning, WEMU's David Fair talked with UofM Athletic Director Bill Martin, and 'Save The Big House' spokesman John Pollack to hear both sides of the debate.
