Ahead of his new album, "A World That's Bigger," Washtenaw County songwriter Mike Vial stops by the WEMU studios for exclusive live music performances and conversation.

The past year has been a busy one for Mr. Vial. He and his wife Natalie are now the proud parents of a little girl named Virginia. Plus, he survived getting hit by a car while crossing the street. He credits the guitar he was carrying on his back--the very same guitar he was playing in-studio-- for saving his life.
