Former Ann Arbor city council member Sally Hart Petersen did not get enough votes to beat incumbent Jane Lumm for the 2nd Ward race in the general election.

Petersen addressed a crowd of about twenty supporters at Guy Hollerin's restaurant in Ann Arbor by telling them she was disappointed with the results but thanked them for their efforts.

She didn't expect to only get 35% of the votes.  The overall voter turnout for the general election in Ann Arbor was 8.6%.

Petersen believes that she may have loss some votes because she does not support killing deer in the city to control their population like Lumm does.
