Salvation Army to try for Kroc Corps Center

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – The Washtenaw County Salvation Army hopes to gain public support for a large new facility in either Ypsilanti or Ypsilanti Township.
The local Salvation Army is considering applying for grant funding to build a Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
Development Director James Mueller says the Salvation Army needs to get an idea of what kind of financial support there is for this type of facility to ensure they can operate such a center.
He says Ypsilanti is an especially attractive site because the elimination of the city's recreation department has created a true need for this type of center.
