School Election Day

By Andrew Cluley

Washtenaw County, MI – It's school board election day in districts throughout Washtenaw County.
Voters in two districts are also voting on ballot proposals.
The Lincoln Consolidated School district has two issues on the ballot. One would add two mils to homeowners' tax bills for the next seven years for operating expenses. The other is a quarter-mil tax for 20 years to operate a system of playgrounds and public recreation.
The Saline school district is asking its voters to approve a point-four-seven mil building and site sinking fund tax.
In Freedom Township, voters are considering a five-year, one-mil tax increase for fire and rescue services.
Polls are open until 8 tonight.
