Search for New EMU President Progresses

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – Eastern Michigan University's next president needs to be honest, courageous, and have integrity.
Those are the three most important attributes according to the results of more than 250 hours of listening sessions and input from more than one-thousand people.
The EMU Board of Regents accepted that report yesterday from its advisory committee appointed to help select the university's next president. The Regents asked the commitee to use those qualifications as its guide in reviewing resumes and conducting initial interviews.
Presidential search committee co-coordinator, Regent Jan Brandon, says the committe should take as long as needed to get the best candidates possible. However, Brandon says it would be ideal to have a new president chosen by next Fall.
