As Summer Vacation Approaches Low-Income Food Programs Grow Important
According to Food Gatherers Community Food Programs Coordinator Kari Woloszyk it's important to break down the biggest barrier that keeps some kids from participating in these programs. She says many think if they don't attend a church or participate in other events at one of the food sites they aren't eligible. Woloszyk however says all kids can get a free meal.
Woloszyk says they also are working to make sure the program is available where kids spend their time such as libraries and community centers.
The service starts next month and runs into August.
