Suspect In Ann Arbor Hebrew School Bomb Threat In Custody

Ann Arbor Police believe there has been a break in the case of a recent bomb threat made against an Ann Arbor Jewish School.

A 19 year-old man has been arrested in Israel, whom police believe may be responsible for a string of threats made at Jewish centers across the United States, including at the Hebrew Day School in Ann Arbor late last month.

Ann Arbor Police Detective Lieutenant Matthew Lige said the following:

"Preliminarily--based on their findings, based on how we know it was committed here--there's a strong indication that they've identified that individual."

There were 17 threats made on the same day the Ann Arbor school received one inside the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor.

Lt. Lige says he hopes news of the suspect brings some relief to the Jewish community locally and across the country and vows police will continue to take incidents like this very seriously.
