Take Flight with WEMU's Andrew Cluley

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – More than 50-thousand people attended this weekend's "Thunder Over Michigan" airshow at Willow Run Airport near Ypsilanti.
While few of the spectators will ever experience the thrill of flying a B-17 or any of the other classic warbirds featured at the show, they can still learn to fly a plane.
Since 1997, the non-profit "Be a Pilot" program has helped more than 175-thousand people take that first step to getting their pilot's certificate.
WEMU's Andrew Cluley got his first lesson with an instructor from the Eagle Flight Center at Willow Run Airport. Click the audio icon to hear how it went, and to learn more about the "Be a Pilot" program.
