Susana Bernabe-Ramirez and her sixteen-year old daughter from Washtenaw County are two undocumented immigrants who are scheduled to be deported on April 29th.

The WashtenawInterfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights wants the government to issue them a stay of deportation that would postpone the departure.

Margaret Harner, who co-founded the coalition, says immigration took notice of their legal status after Ramirez traveled back to Mexico to visit her mother, who was ill and later passed away.  She was detained at the border when she tried to reenter the country.

Ramirez also has an 11 year old daughter who is an American citizen and suffers from epilepsy.

A vigil will be held on April 21st at 7:00 PM at Scarlett Middle Schoolin Ann Arbor to show support for the family.
