Washtenaw County FIA Office Goes Solo

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – Starting February 1st, Washtenaw County's Family Independence Agency office wil no longer be administratively linked to the FIA's Livingston County operations.
State FIA officials say the Livingston office will link up with Shiawassee County, while the Washtenaw County office will stand alone.
FIA spokesperson Maureen Sorbet says the change is being made because Livingston and Shiawassee counties have similar staff sizes and caseloads. Washtenaw County's staff and caseload is much larger.
Sorbet says clients will not notice the difference, and the move will not have a financial impact.
A new director for the Washtenaw County FIA office is also expected to be named next month.
