WCC Launching Honors Program

wccnet.edu

Starting this fall Washtenaw Community College will have an honors program.

Bill Abernathy is the Interim Vice President of Instruction at Washtenaw Community College.  He believes the program will prepare students well for rigorous upper level university courses.

"The courses themselves are going to be more intensive," Abernathy said. "They're writing-intensive, they have critical thinking components built in, more so than most classes."

Abernathy believes that in addition to preparing students the honors program will be another highlight on a student's transcript as they apply to continue their education.

Abernathy  says they've been getting a lot of positive feedback from the community and faculty on the plan.
