Yankee Air Museum To Sign Purchase Agreement For Bomber Plant
The Yankee Air Museum’s fundraising effort has been successful enough to move forward with a purchase agreement for a portion of the former Willow Run bomber plant.
That’s according to museum founder and Michigan Aerospace Foundation President Dennis Norton, who said in a statement that “we are fairly close to moving to the next step of the campaign.”
Norton says he expects infrastructure issues associated with purchasing part of the plant to be resolved as quickly as possible, with an eye toward signing a purchase agreement in the next week to 10 days.
The Yankee Air Museum was up against a May 1st deadline to raise the $8 million needed to spare a portion of the former bomber plant from the wrecking ball.
