Ypsilanti City Budget to Increase

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – Ypsilanti officials have begun the budget process for the coming fiscal year. Last night was the first of five city council meetings devoted exclusively to the budget.
City Manager Ed Koryzno says next year's budget proposes an increase of a million dollars over this year's initial plan.
He says, however, that he's proposing a third straight year of delays in building maintenance and capital improvements.
Koryzon also says that unless the state shores up funding for local governments, Ypsilanti will need to find an alternative, sustainable revenue source, or face significant cuts in services.
