Teachers who'll be making the jump from the Ypsilanti and Willow Run school districts toYpsilanti Community Schools have been given their building and grade assignments.
Willow Run Superintendent Laura Lisiscki says trying to place teachers where they wanted to teach was a daunting task.
She says they tried to place teachers in either their first, second or third choice of where they'd like to teach. After that, requests based on whether a certain building or specific grade was more important were considered.
Lisiscki says there were a handful of teachers whose preferences could not be accommodated due to certifications and other requirements.
Ypsilanti Community Schools officially opens July 1st.
