Zika Virus Concerns Being Addressed In Washtenaw County

Washtenaw County residents continue to be concerned about the Zikavirus.  The local health department is addressing the issue.

The WashtenawCounty Health Departmentis connecting individuals with local health care providers to test for the virus.  This includes people who have traveled to areas where the virus is active, as well as pregnant women.

Health department spokespersonSusanCerniglia says 48 people have been tested, and 43 of those results were negative.  The other results are still pending. 

The health department recommends using insect repellent and eliminating standing water around you to avoid mosquitoes.
