The two finalists to become the next Superintendent of Ann Arbor Public Schools are visiting town this week.  As WEMU's Andrew Cluley reports, One of the finalists is here today, the other tomorrow.


New Jersey's South Orange and Maplewood Schools Superintendent Brian Osborne and Colorado Springs District 11 Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Jeanice Swift are the finalists to be Ann Arbor's next superintendent.

The Ann Arbor School Board narrowed the field of candidates Tuesday afternoon after wrapping up interviews with the six semi-finalists.

The board plans on checking references and visiting the districts later this week.

  The Ann Arbor school district has identified the six semi-finalists to be the district's next superintendent, and a couple of them are local. 

Dr. Henry Hastings is a full-time instructor at Eastern Michigan University, and Dr. Benjamin Edmondson is principal of Ann Arbor's Roberto Clemente High School. 

The Ann Arbor Board of Education continues to grapple with exactly where to make about nine-million dollars in budget reductions. As WEMU's Andrew Cluley reports, the board last night held a public hearing on it's proposed plan.
