If you plan to vote in the August 8th primary election, you have to be registered by July 10th.  There will a ballot issue in Ypsilanti, primary elections in four of the five Ann Arbor city council wards, and a few other proposals to be decided on the 2nd Tuesday in August.

Washtenaw County will soon get reimbursed for the partial presidential recount it conducted earlier in December.

After a federal judge cleared the way to stop a presidential recount in Michigan, the Washtenaw County Elections Division has stopped counting ballots.

The Washtenaw County Elections Division is currently conducting a recount of the of the presidential election.

It was light voter turnout for the primary elections in Washtenaw County. County elections director Ed Golembiewski had predicted 20-to-25% turnout among the more than 272,000 registered voters.  In the end, under 18% cast a ballot.

Washtenaw County elections officials don't expect further legal challenges from an absentee ballot snafu in Ann Arbor's third ward.  A lot of work has gone into ensuring every vote can count.
