Leslie Science and Nature Center

Exposing all generations of people to nature and engendering a connection and appreciation for the outdoors.  That is a big part of what is happening at the Leslie Science and Nature Center in Ann Arbor.  For those that participate, it is making a difference.  In this week's 'creative:impact' segment, WEMU's David Fair and president and CEO of the Arts Alliance, Deb Polich, further explore the difference the center is making now and for the future.

While we're spending a lot of our time and energy surviving the January winter weather, there is a lot going on in the sky above us.

Local amateur astronomer and member of the University of Michigan Lowbrow Astronomers Dr. Brian Ottum spoke to 89.1 WEMU'S Lisa Barry about the local siting of a rare blue comet and the upcoming blue moon and lunar eclipse.

89.1 WEMU'S Lisa Barry recently visited Leslie and learned about the plans for the festival and spoke to a number of kid day campers who shared great knowledge about the environment and the benefits of Earth Day.
