A state appeals court says a former tribal police chief who pleaded guilty to fraud charges can’t run for state or local political offices.  The case will now go to the state Supreme Court.

The use of Native American logos and images for school mascots is once again in the spotlight. 


Many schools in Michigan have grappled with whether they should dump Native American mascots and nicknames.  Plenty of things can stand in the way: history, tradition, emotion.  But one Michigan tribe wants to make sure money isn’t the barrier to change.
