Re-Built Rutherford Pool Opens Friday

Ypsilanti's Rutherford Pool finally re-opens Friday evening, following a two-year closure during which the pool was completely re-built.

The new pool will be much more cost-efficient than its worn-out predecessor, and features improvements like new lane laps, wheelchair ramps and a grassy deck area that can be used for picnicking. 

The grand re-opening takes place from 6-8 this evening.  It's free and open to the public.

Rutherford Pool Project Nearing Fundraising Goal

The start of construction on the re-building of Ypsilanti's Rutherford pool is so close you can almost hear the sounds of folks enjoying a cool dip on a hot summer day.  But as WEMU's Bob Eccles reports, work won't begin until $51,000 is raised.

More Money Needed for Rutherford Pool Rebuild
