From EMUEagles.com: The Eastern Michigan University football team completed its first win over a 'Power 5' opponent in program history with a heart-pounding 16-13 victory over Rutgers University Saturday evening, Sept. 9, at High Point Solutions Stadium. With the win, EMU snatched its first win over a Big Ten Conference opponent in 39 tries, and moved to 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2011.  

MLive reports that the Eastern Michigan University Eagles could appear in their first bowl game since 1987 after a nail biting 48 - 41 victory over Ball State. The Eagles haven't been eligible for bowl game since the 1995 season.

The Eastern Michigan University football team's Tuesday, Nov. 8, contest at Ball State University will shift radio affiliates to Cumulus Media Ann Arbor's W4 County (102.9 WWWW-FM). Due to election night coverage, WEMU (89.1 FM) will remain with local and national election results updates.

Eastern Michigan University football play-by-play voice Matt Shepard has been named Michigan Sportscaster of the Year for the first time in his career, as announced by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Monday, Jan. 11.

Chad Bush returns for his eighth season behind the 89.1 WEMU microphone along with EMU Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations Sean Hostetter for color commentary for men's contests while EMU Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Greg Steiner will team up with Bush during women's games.

EMU was led on the ground by Bronson Hill (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Catholic Central) and Darius Jackson (Sparta, Ill.-Sparta), who combined for 187 yards rushing. Hill surpassed the century mark for the 10th time in his career, going 114 yards on 19 carries. Jackson notched a career high in rushing with 73 yards on 17 carries and also set a career mark in receiving yards, pulling in five catches for 22 yards. Reginald Bell, Jr. (Los Angeles, Calif.-Susan Miller Dorsey) led the offense, making a start in the first game of his collegiate career and throwing 11-for-16 with a total of 59 yards.
