The Easy Street Jazz Band has played Dixieland jazz for over 50 years right here in Ann Arbor. Leader/trombonist Terry Kimura picks familiar tunes from the traditional jazz repertoire and blows the dust off some forgotten gems from Fats Waller, Jelly Roll Morton, Walter Donaldson, Hoagy Carmichael and other great composers from the early part of the 20th century. Kimura, Matt Collar (tr), Chris Tabaczynski (reeds) Pete Siers (percussion), Rod McDonald (guitar and banjo), Paul Keller (bass), and a guest pianist play great jazz for listening and dancing fun.
Active Against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) will be hosting a screening of the documentary, "Go On, Be Brave" at the Michigan Theater on May 7, 2024 at 7:00pm. In May 2022, Andrea Lytle Peet became the first person with ALS to complete a marathon in all 50 states. This documentary is the inspiring story about her marathon journey. Andrea will be in attendance and host a Q & A session after the movie. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students.

Singer, songwriter, performer, recording artist and producer, Annie Capps has spent the past 4 decades forging her own unique genre-defying style, garnering 4 Folk Dj chart-topping albums and two Kerrville New Folk Finalist awards along the way. Best known for a long performing career with partner Rod Capps (the duo recently dropped their 9th album, “Love & Rain” in July 2023), Annie also wrote and produced a solo album released in Jan 2023 called “How Can I Say This?” which features over 40 women singers and musicians. Bill Edwards is both a master of the songwriting craft and a seasoned and compelling performer. He started his career in the singer-songwriter scene in Buffalo, NY in the 70’s, and his journey has led him through bluegrass to country-rock, to classic country and Americana. All along the way, the constant has been songwriting. He won the Country division of Billboard’s® national songwriting contest and his songs have been recorded by other artists and featured on TV and on the silver screen. He’s held staff-writer positions in Nashville and recently was asked by Rodney Crowell to be an honorary instructor at his song camp in Nashville.
