Ypsi Committee Recommends Closing Schools

Ypsilanti, MI – The Ypsilanti School Board has scheduled five meetings over the next month and a half to determine where to make more than five-million dollars in reductions to the district's budget. Soaring on Black Wings

Ypsilanti, MI – Tony award-winning actor Ben Vereen has been on the Eastern Michigan University campus for the past few weeks, working with EMU students on the production of "Soaring on Black Wings", the story of the Tuskeege Airmen of World War Two.

Local Students Win Congressional Art Awards

Ann Arbor, MI – An Ann Arbor Community High School student has won a scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design, and will have a piece of artwork displayed at the U-S capitol for a year.
Liz Woodward's self-portrait was selected as the top entry in the 15th Congressional District arts competition. Woodward will be invited to the capitol for the exhibit's opening ceremony.
Community High's Emma Raynor took second place and will have her work displayed at Congressman John Dingell's Washington D.C. office.
