Ypsilanti Mayoral candidate Amanda Edmonds believes Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and neighboring communities will succeed or fail together.  She made these remarks Thursday at the Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Regional Chamber's unique mayoral forum that brought together candidates for the job in both cities.

Golden Limousine C-E-O Sean Duval attended the event and says it was great to hear from both communities at the same time.  Duval also liked the location of the event, a hotel on Carpenter Road the symbolic dividing line between the 2 cities.

Duval says he's not a resident of either community but still wants to know more about who will be replacing John Hieftje and Paul Schreiber.

The August Primary in Ann Arbor includes City Council members Sabra Briere, Sally Hart Petersen, Stephen Kunselman, and Christopher Taylor.  Tyrone Bridges, Amanda Edmonds, and Pete Murdock are on Ypsilanti's primary ballot.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
